The Maui Writer's Conference has been held on on the island of Maui every year since 1993 but in 2009 the event is being renamed the Hawaii Writer's Conference and it is being moved to Waikiki on the island of Oahu. The organizers expect the event to grow significantly after it moves to Oahu.
